leaves, leaves and more leaves...

Cut and prepped almost 80 leaves to applique on 8 and a quarter half wreathes for my Sarah Fielke "Happy Days BOM" . Applique is not my strong suit but I'm hoping that by the end of this portion my skills are much improved. The star block for this month was also quite challenging. So far I'm learning to love yellow which was one of my personal challenges for this quilt. It is relentlessly cheerful...

  1. seeing all those lovely leaves makes me want to drop everything and do some needle-turn applique! the yellow gingham in your pieced block is adorable, too. Both that and the yellow strip are an unexpected and very successful (IMO) pairing with the prints, and yes, very cheerful.

  2. Ohhh pretty leaves! They look so lovely in their rainbow colours. The star block is wonderful too, iThe fabric you've chosen for the square make it look 3D.
